Cream cot bed and baby bedding
The nursery was fully furnished, prepared for the child"s arrival. The baby would be born any minute so its parents had done their best to be ready when the moment comes. The room was very bright, not only because the window was quite big. The walls had been painted white and light yellow, with a couple of sunny images here and there. It looked very cheerful, optimistic, especially if you looked at the ugly weather outside. There was a cot bed in the corner. Inside the bed there was a cute set of cream and light yellow baby bedding. The bedding was embroidered with some colourful patterns, palm trees and funny animals: a fox, a lion and a giraffe, smiling and apparently living in peace. There was a light pink or perhaps peach blanket with a zebra on it. The set didn"t include a pillow. Behind the bed the parents had hung some clothes for the child: a pair of onesies, a little tracksuit and a little dress. So they were expecting a girl. The child"s grandmother entered the room again. She had been talking on the phone for several minutes. I turned away from the cot bed and looked at her. She was smiling and I could see excitement in her eyes. The baby girl had just been born. I was really happy, although I didn"t know them at all.
