Trying to focus on my theory driving test
I have a bad habit of putting everything off until it"s high time I got down to work. It was the same with my theory driving test. I was going to take it on Friday, and on Wednesday I realised that I had not started revising at all. It was a sunny day, but I did not have anything else to do, so I finally opened my books and started reading the traffic code. I was, unfortunately, very unlucky. After an hour or so, I heard a terrible sound. The walls of my flat were shaking. It was definitely the sound of a drill. I immediately remembered that a few weeks before a young couple had bought the flat below mine. Nobody had lived in this flat for years so they probably wanted to renovate it. I soon realised they were actually making some major repairs. I heard a wall collapse. Somebody was using a hammer, or perhaps a pickaxe, to demolish the remains of the wall. I could understand all this, they did not wish to leave in three small rooms but wanted to have a huge living room instead. But I had to study! I was trying really hard to concentrate on a mock theory driving test, but only heard the drill in my head. Finally, I stood up, packed my books, put on my shoes and went to the park. Of course it was not easy, trying to focus with all those dogs barking round and kids playing football and yelling. But it was much better than sitting at home, believe me.
