Why sell gold to buy a plane ticket
I live in Nairobi, Kenya. I"m a thirty-year-old long distance runner. I started running when I was at primary school. My P.E. teacher noticed that I was much faster than other girls. This is how I started competing and as soon as I began winning first prizes, I felt motivated to take this seriously. Unfortunately, my family was very poor. I work as a P.E. teacher today, but barely earn enough money to make ends meet. Anyway, I"d like to share something else with you. Recently I got to know an interesting guy. We haven"t seen each other yet because he lives in the UK. He wants to visit me one day, and in order to buy a ticket he would have to sell gold he inherited from his family. I tried to explain to him that it"s not a good idea. What if he needs the money in the future? I know how hard it can be sometimes when you have no savings or if you have not invested you money in something. Then the hard times come and you have to ask other people for help. I suggested that we meet in Egypt during the summer. I would have to buy a ticket to Cairo, but there are some cheap airlines here so I don"t think it would cost me a fortune. I guess he wouldn"t have to sell gold to travel to Egypt, or at least not all of it. I hope I persuade him and he changes his mind.
